Question ID: 174932
I'm looking for a list of businesses in Minnesota using corporate
travel as:
- bringing news customers onboard (selling)
- developing products or services at customer’s location (consulting)
- implementing products or services at customer’s location
(installation)
- maintaining products or services at customer’s location
(maintenance)

As I spent already hours on this project in vain, I won’t be surprised
if these lists are accessible with a fee and I'm willing to pay if
it's reasonable.

Thank you for your help

Hi -

Couple questions for you:

1) Must each one of these companies do all of what you listed, or any
one of those tasks?

2) I'm assuming "bringing newS customer onboard" is "bringing NEW
customers onboard?"

Thanks,

Here are the clarifications:

1) Must each one of these companies do all of what you listed, or any
one of those tasks? any , all or 2 of the 3.

2) I'm assuming "bringing newS customer onboard" is "bringing NEW
customers onboard?" you assume corectly and it was a typo :)) NEW is
the corect statment.

Any radius limitations? I.e., what if the destination is 5-10 miles
from the company? Is that OK?

Hello -

IMPORTANT NOTE: This answer is not finished until you're satisfied
with it. If you choose to rate this answer, please do so *after*
asking for any needed information/clarification. Thanks for your
understanding.

I've discovered some search terms that seem to unearth a good number
of companies. In addition to trying the ones as listed [under "Search
strategy"], I would definitely recommend substituting "minneapolis"
for various cities around your area. I would also try other search
terms along those lines, keeping in mind that the usage of quotation
marks can completely change your search results.

Thank you for your answer but I did the same think as you did and
these companies are:
- not traveling because they offer local services (ecom) or
- like http://www.premiopc.com/contactus/default.asp they are not in
MN

When i searched as you did, I contacted a lot of these companies and
it was a total failure...

Clarification of Answer by jbf777-ga on 15 Mar 2003 12:04 PST
Hello -

As I understood it, you had 3 additional criteria:

"-developing products or services at customer’s location (consulting)
- implementing products or services at customer’s location
(installation)
- maintaining products or services at customer’s location
(maintenance)"

Those companies do one of those things, according to their website.
Have you contacted these companies or checked out their websites?
They state that they do at least one of the things you're specifying.
For instance, on-site maintenance of existing products, installation,
repair, and consulting. Can you review the list for me again? If
you're ultimately not satisfied, I can withdraw my answer [please do
not ask for a refund yet, because withdrawing my answer is different
from a refund].

Thanks,

I'm sure there is a way....

Thank you

Can you explain to me exactly how these companies don't fit your
criteria? I don't really understand why they don't. They offer
corporate travel to do at least one of the criteria you've specified.
Is it that you've called them and you can't talk to them to verify it?
Don't they in theory represent exactly what you're looking for based
on what it is you've specified? So it's just a matter of them living
up to what their website says?

I've done a lot of searching as a researcher, and I can tell you I
don't see any other real readily available way of doing this. I even
contacted Hoovers Online [hoovers.com], a leading authority on
business directories, that indexes millions of companies based on all
sorts of criteria. There isn't a hard and fast way of obtaining
companies using this kind of break-down. You've got a very unique
criteria list. It's like asking to search a person-location service
based on the number of grey hairs a person has. :)

I just can't understand why all of these companies aren't going to
work. Is it possible a few do? If so, can you give me 3-4 of them
that do, and tell me why, and I can see if I can churn something out
from that? I'll work on this for a couple more days and then withdraw
my answer if I don't come up with anything.

Thanks for your patience and help..
