Help. Anyone have experience with AOL and the organize file?  I can't
move my organize file to my current version of AOL without the program locking
up. I  have thus lost MANY entries in my Favorite places because the
file is now useless. I am running 7.0 presently. If only I could just
OPEN the organize file to manually copy the entries into my present
version of AOL or be able to move the file to my NEW version WITHOUT
locking up! The AOL helpline is of NO help! Do you know how to open
the organize file to retrieve the entries contained in the file? I
would like to upgrade to 8.0. When I have tried to move the organize
file to 8.0, it locked up. Many thanks! Fred

You can open it with a text editor, such as notepad, and manually
extract the information. Are you desparate enough to need to go 
this, admittedly painstaking, route? Do you need instruction on
how to do this?

I'm not an AOL user, but quite good with these types of problems.

Can you upload a copy of this file somewhere where I can download it
and investigate possible solutions? Post a clarification, if so, and I
will be happy to take a look.

I don't believe it will open with a text editior such as note pad etc.
That would be TOO easy!

Are you sure?? Have you tried to open it?? How about moving the file
into the new 7.0 without it locking>

Oy! I have been there. I don't have a solution for you, but I would
comment that 8.0 is notorious for not working well with certain
operating systems. It seems to do okay with XP, but anything before
that...it is often a disaster. So, the problem may in fact be 8.0.
Just a thought.

It won't work with 7.0 either.
