I'm age 71, so I have been analyzing for most of that period.
Prejudice is down significantly for most groups except Black American
as the attitude of the more vocal Blacks has worsened and black crime
has increased both against whites and against other blacks. Also
quotas, preferences and set asides have added to white resentment.
Anti Arab prejudice was decreasing, before terrorist began hitting the
USA about 1995. Pedudice against Jews began increasing about the same
time as many Americans perceive the terrorist as are after the USA
because our federal government and some rich and powerful Jews in the
USA, have favored and help arm Israel. Anti Jewish feeling are partly
jealousy as Jews are outstanding in many ways, and are not very
compassionate business competitors. I think people have the right to
have moderate prejudices, but clearly blood shed is very undesirable.
Elderly Americans enjoy favorable opinions more than ever before. We
are sadened that the present teens are rather poorly educated, and
have serious attitude problems, but I would not define that as
prejudice. Apparently some liberals label people prejudice if they
don't believe the lies being told to combat prejudice. I recommend
telling the truth. Lies told for a "good cause" typicaly backfire
sooner or later and many of us have concluded that most of what we see
and hear is half truths, false inferences if not out and out lies.
Women have made spectacular progress to the point that important
family decisions are typicaly discussed and analyzed, and the final
decision is made mostly by the partner who is often correct. The often
wrong partner gets to make trivial and low downside risk decisions.
Women in the work place suffered a set back when the family leave act
passed. Men are more dependable as they rarely take time off for
family reasons or quit because they got married or the wife's job
moved to another city. Neil
