Hello.

Harry Truman was President from April 12, 1945, until January 20,
1953.

As such, the following countries turned Communist during his
Presidency:

CHINA: October 1, 1949
"On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China was formally
established."
Source: Hoover Institution Archives
http://www.hoover.archives.gov/exhibits/China/Political%20Evolution/1932-49/1932-49home.htm

POLAND: January 19, 1947
"January 19, 1947: Manipulated elections in Poland return a huge
Communist majority."
Source: CIA
http://www.cia.gov/csi/books/coldwaryrs/chron.html

EAST GERMANY: October 7, 1949
Communist German Democratic Republic established on October 7, 1949.

NORTH VIETNAM: September 2, 1945
Communist leader "Ho Chi Minh proclaimed on 2 September 1945 that the
nation was independent of France and would henceforth be called the
Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV)."
Source: US Army
http://www-cgsc.army.mil/csi/research/ComWar/comwarbriggs.asp
Note, though, that Ho Chi Minh's government did not control all of
Vietnam and Communism was NOT established in all of Vietnam until
1975. However, the Communist North Vietnamese government cites the
September 2, 1945 date as its founding, so it should logically be
included here.

NORTH KOREA: September 9, 1948
North Korea, the Democratic Republic of Korea, was established on
September 9, 1948, under a Communist regime with its capital at
Pyongyang.
UN Defensive: June 27-September 15, 1950
Source: US Air Force

search strategy: communism, communists, established
greece, china, etc

I hope this helps.

I should also note, of course, that the countries not listed in my
answer did NOT turn Communist during Truman's Presidency.
