Hi chezleigh,
While searching for this data, I noted that not only are there public
and private golf courses, there are others (semi-private, resort,
military, etc.) So in my list I will have 3 categories: 'Public'
'Private' and 'Others'. I can give you the number of golf courses in
the last category, but I will list the fees only in the Public and
Private golf courses. The reason for this being is the fees for the
'Others' category is not always available. Let me know if this is ok
with you. Thanks.

Hi chezleigh,
While working on your question, I noticed that there are quite a few
'Semi-Private' golf courses. Since this is the case, I will include
this category, with the fees, separate from the 'Others' that I had
mentioned before.
Since the data of this research is so extensive, I will be giving it
to you in an xls format and will give you the url to download it from.
I hope this is convenient for you.

rainbow

Hi chezleigh,

After a long and extensive search, I have compiled the data you
requested for golf courses in the US. As I mentioned before, besides
the public, private and semi-private golf courses, you can also find
resorts and military courses. These will be listed in the category
named 'Others'.

Following is Part 1 of your question. The number found after each
region and sub-region is the total number of golf courses located
there.
The remainder of the answer is in xls format and can be downloaded
from the url below.

“Regions defined by the US Bureau of the Census”

WEST – 2,831
Pacific: Alaska - California - Hawaii - Oregon - Washington (1,629)
