I am currently living in the UK, and went to emigrate to live in the US (potentially moving my company out there, or managing the company remotely) - I'm highly skilled in IT, own a limited company in the UK and would like to know what the possible scenarios/options are for me get out there ASAP? Also, when travelling to the US on vacation you're given a temporary 60-day VISA. If you stay for the whole time, then return to the UK, then travel back to the US.. are you then entitled to another 60-days? (obviously you're not allowed to work in the US during this time, are you allowed to work on projects in the UK remotely, and get paid into a UK bank account?) Can you return to the US immediately after the 60 days or is there a "cooling off" period? Thanks! |

Hello synak-ga. A citizen from the UK is eligible for the Visa Waiver program. This entitles you to enter the US for 90 days or less. Details of this program can be found here: http://www.immigration.gov/graphics/shared/lawenfor/bmgmt/inspect/vwpp.htm If you are interested in making a significant investment in the US, you may be eligible for the Immigration through Investment program. A $1 million or $500,000 investment is required, depending on where you locate your business. http://www.usais.org/prinvestment.htm As immigration proceedures are quite complicated when work is involved, I recommend you contact your local US embassy. Good luck in your endeavors. |
