Hi, Oh Sublime One

I have consulted the Oracle and she advises that your prediction is
indeed the most probable in all the circumstances, subject to final
determination by the Duckworth-Lewis method.

So, please post your answer and receive a supplementary question
(subject to audit).

Kindest regards

Bryan

probonopublico...

Please note that upon analysis by the Duckworth-Lewis
method, it has been determined that the time-stamp of
the 350th comment to Question ID 161982 *preceeded* the
time-stamp of the 'prediction' above. See reference 'a':

a) 350th comment to Question 161982

Subject: Re: Over 1,000 Comments, please!

Missy, behind you -- a $200 dollar question!

Also, the 'prediction' was made in the Clarifications
section, while your question here "invites Comments
only".

This was due to the fact that I was, myself, trying to
post the 350th comment, to be preceeded by a prediction
in the comments here, time-stamped just prior to that
350th comment, so as not to alert the researcher community
(since my comment here would have brought this question
to the top of the unanswered questions list).

Unfortunately, Google began returning a 'cannot proccess'
error after I added comment #342, reducing me to adding
a clarification here (which, oddly, took when a comment
would not) after the fact of the 350th comment having
been posted.

I therefore throw myself upon the mercy of the judges
panel, having made a replete and remorseful confession
of my conniving ways. My fate is in your hands.

Hi, O Sublime One.

I have read your pathetic apology but, being famous for my generosity,
I will nevertheless accept your answer.

Please post quickly before someone beats you to the draw.

Big B...

Salivating heavily upon their boots, I prostrate myself before
this merciful and generous judicious body, and formally accept
the crumbs from their table, by way of this [sic] 'prediction':

"j_phillip-ga will post the 350th comment!"

So mote it be...

Hi, Sublime One

It grieves me that I cannot award thee more than a mere 5 stars but,
perhaps when Saddam is elected to the White House, things may change.

You're a great sport anyway.

The strength of horoscopes, oracles, predictions, hand reading etc.,
is they're intentionally ambiguous to be open to interpretation later
on. So my crystal ball shows a fellow Researcher, not me -- one who we
all like and who posted several great answers -- posting comment
number 350 in the near future. Totally unrelated to that it also shows
you will face some kind of minor conflict with a person close to you
this year, but it will all go well in the end.

Hmmmm.
What's to stop a researcher from personally posting an additional 62
comments over there and then coming back here and "predicting"
himself?
;-)

PS I just wanted to add that there is a 50% chance the commentor will
be a Google Answers Researcher. There is also a one-in-four chance
that the commentor will be a female Google Answers Researcher...wait,
what's this?? My crystal ball is fogging!! Nooooooooo!

Hi, Journalist

Your prediction gives me a problem ...

How do us PSAWs (Poor Seekers After Wisdom) know which Researchers are female?

(I mean just by looking at their nom-de-guerre, SILLY.)

Perhaps (should you win) that should be your supplementary question????

Kindest regards

Bryan - a PSAW (Male)

It's easy. See this photo of the Google Answers Researchers' nursery?

We girls are the ones in the pink outfits.

Dear Bryan:

GRATIS SORT-OF-ANSWER TO SUGGESTED SUPPLEMENTARY Q: As a female GA
Researcher who is constantly referred to as "he" by customers, I
really don't know how to ascertain the gender of a Researcher unless
their GAR name has a gender clue. Perhaps I should have chosen
"msjournalist-ga" but it's really not my style to follow Betty
Friedan. lol A journalist is a journalist is journalist-ga. :)

The only true way to find out the gender of a GAR is to inquire.
Actually, you could always add a tag question to your questions in the
form of question #161982:

"EXTRA CREDIT: Who would play you in a film about your life?"

However, a Michael Jackson-type might answer "Diana Ross" so you
really couldn't tell that way either, huh? Darn.

Also, it appears that comments are still being accepted on question
#161982 and I posted there who will play me in the film - as for your
query there on what color one might choose to present, I always follow
the simple philosophy of Gilda Radner: "I base my fashion sense on
what doesn't itch" and I prefer natural fabrics in mulit-colors
because I prefer to dress as a six year-old whenever possible. But
then, I revel in being described as gamine. ;)

Hi, Pinky!

Thanks for the link ... Of course, I spotted you immediately.

But it still didn't tell me whether you were a boy or a girl.

If I remember correctly: Pink for a Boy ...

>> If I remember correctly: Pink for a Boy ...

Someone once told me that in (some?) european countries,
the tradition is the reverse of the US tradition, and it
*is* pink for boys, blue for girls. This makes sense from
a tonal perspective, since blue is an absorbent or receptive
color, whereas pink is more expressive and dynamic.

Hi, Journalist

Many thanks for your useful tips ...

But I found your reference to Question ID 161982 rather obscure.

Could you please tell me how I can track it down?

Kindest regards
