Hello etiennelands,

I searched for your answer and I don't know that you will ever find
the definitive answer unless you were to speak to Tina herself, but
there is fascinating information to be found:

The Homepage For That Scar On Tina Fey's Face
Just like Yahoo, only it's about That Scar On Tina Fey's Face!

"Hello, fanboy! If you've found this page it's because you were trying
to find information about That Scar On Tina Fey's Face. Lucky for you,
you've found the right place!

If you're like me, you think Tina Fey is the best Saturday Night Live
Weekend Update anchor since, well, since forever.

Furthermore, if you're like me, you're obsessed with Tina Fey to some

...Somewhere between the time you found out where she buys her shoes
and who her third grade math teacher was you discovered she has a scar
on the side of her face...

...Unfortunately, nobody knows exactly where or how Ms. Fey got that
scar. Tina aint talking. One site,, has this to say:

How did Tina get her scar?

The question everyone and their mother wants to know the answer to.
Tina addressed it in a Nov. 25, 2001 NY Times article. "She started as
a co-anchor for Weekend Update with a cast member, Jimmy Fallon, last
year, wearing her navy suit and trademark glasses. Her other trademark
is a scar that runs along the left side of her face, although she
won't discuss it. "It's a childhood injury that was kind of grim," she
said. "And it kind of bums my parents out for me to talk about it."

So there you have it. That's all we can get. If we were a less
reliable journalistic source, say, US Today, we might speculate that
she was in a knife fight in elementary school. We're not going to
speculate though..."

This is a great page! There are comments to this article and
impossible to tell if this was REALLY posted by Tina or not, but:

Tina Fey

No, I do NOT "get a kick out of it." It's a dogbite scar, you
(censored). Why would you think that I'd enjoy re-living that? I'll be
sending a cease and desist order your way soon.

Possible this is a real posting. Possibly not.

Entertainment Weekly says:

"...Fey's had to face questions about everything from her
pre-''Update'' weight loss (''No one ever told me to lose weight -- I
did it over the summer'') to her facial scar (from a childhood injury
she prefers not to discuss)..."

This blog makes the claim:

"...I received helpful info from Jake about Tina Fey's scar (she got
it in a car accident),..."

Checking Jake's page did not lend credibility to his claim, but...who
knows other than Tina and her folks?

Thw Wienerboard

"...And in regards to an earlier post about Tina Fey, I read an
interview with her in Rolling Stone (I think), and she wouldn't
discuss where the scar came from..."

Of course, the Usenet Groups have a bevy of discussions on "the scar":

Some fascinating ideas here, though I doubt a grain of truth to any of

In fact, there are no less than 324 threads on Tina and the Scar.

Some answers:

From a phasar
Saving lives in the War of 1812
Car accident in Springfield
Pit Bull

So, in reality, if anyone but Tina, family and close friends know for
sure, they don't appear to be talking.
