Hello.

I have located details about this book.

The author was J. Alan Thompson. The book was published in 1949 by A.
Dakers in London.

"In the East my pleasure / by J. Alan Thompson.
London : A. Dakers, 1949."
Source: The Library of Congress online catalog:
http://catalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?v3=1&DB=local&CMD=010a+49027591&CNT=10+records+per+page

The book seems to be very rare. I checked various search sites for
used books and I couldn't locate any that currently have the book for
sale.

Your best bet would probably be to borrow the book from a library. Now
that you know the title, author, publisher and year of publication,
your local public librarian should be able to assist you in locating a
copy to borrow. As indicated on their site, the Library of Congress
has two copies of the book. It's almost certainly available at other
libraries, as well, both in the U.S. and the U.K.

Beyond that, keep your eye on used book web sites such as:
Alibris:
http://www.alibris.com
Abebooks:
http://www.abebooks.com
Biblion
http://www.biblion.co.uk

search strategy: library of congress catalog, in the east my pleasure

I hope this helps. Good luck!
