I would like to set up a 1-900 number for other attorneys to call me
(I am an attorney), and which would automatically bill those other
attorneys at, say, $3 per minute. How do I set up such a system?
Thanks.

Dear tnlawyer:

Hi! Thanks for your question. Good luck in your attorney business.

900 number service is provided by www.best900.com. According to [
http://www.best900.com/page2.html ], they can provide a service that's
just what you need.

"We can provide virtually every type of interactive programming
including menus, extensions, voice mail, message notification, call
forwarding, call transferring, voice capture, digit capture, fax on
demand, and order processing, among many others! Or you can take the
calls live in your home or office! In fact, your 900 number can also
work as a "follow me" number since you can change the number that the
calls are being routed to at any time. Also, we have virtually
unlimited call transfer capabilities. And remember, your 900 number
can receive as many simultaneous calls as can be generated since we
are part of the MCI Worldcom® digital network with numerous call
processing centers. You pay per 900 number, not per circuit. We also
take care of all of the billing and collecting and we pay you monthly.
We provide you with the actual MCI Worldcom® call detail and call
credit reports. These reports will provide the time of the call, date
of the call, length of the call, the caller's complete phone number,
and how much the caller was charged."

Your next step would be to contact one of their salespeople at
sales@best900.com or 1(877)BEST-900.

If you need any more information, please post a request for
clarification, and I'd be glad to help out!

Here's more details on available 900-number packages:

www.custom900.com pricing structure:
   $800 activation fee
    $50 monthly fee
   1.14 per minute fee

You make up the monthly fee after 0.5 hours, then make 1.85 per
minute. Best if you will logging between 0.5 and 8.5 hours of calls
per month.

www.best900.com pricing structure:
  $1000 activation fee
   $500 monthly fee
    .60 per minute fee

You make up the monthly fee after 3.5 hours, then make 2.40 per
minute. Best if you will be logging more than 8.5 hours of calls per
month.

Since they both advertise "better than ATT, MCI, and Sprint", I would
make sure to call ATT, MCI, and Sprint to compare their offers. :)

Cheers!
