UK band Goldfrapp?

I hadn't heard of the band Goldfrapp, but a simple search turned up
their website at www.goldfrapp.co.uk. Unfortunately there is no
information (as far as I could see) on the members of the band.

Further searching on the band name turned up a biography at
http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/singerUnid/CAE35917DCF30D5F48256A8C000E3F67,
which makes clear that the band is a duo composed of Alison Goldfrapp
and Will Gregory.

Searching for these names and John Lennon didn't reveal any
connections, so I searched for a list of musicians on the "Imagine"
album
(://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=imagine+lennon+personnel)
and found several:
http://www.keno.org/lennonreviewImagine.htm
http://www.discographynet.com/lennon/jli.html
http://www.softshoe-slim.com/lists/l/lennon.html#6
but none of these mention either of the two musicians of Goldfrapp.

Thinking that perhaps the connection was a session musician, or guest
live performer, I skimmed some reviews of Goldfrapp's CDs and live
performances, but there is no mention of any other musician than the
duo.

I think the answer to your question is no.

Hi, thanks for all your research. I fairly certain that the person was
Will Gregory and that Jools Holland asserted the John Lennon / Imagine
link when he introduced Goldfrapp on his 'Later' show.

Thanks for the extra information.
I checked the website for the BBC program "Later",
(http://www.bbc.co.uk/later/) but couldn't find any mention of
Goldfrapp in the listings for the last series (which finished at the
end of 2002).
An interview with Will Gregory
(http://www.choler.com/articles/goldfrapp.shtml) describes his
background as film and TV scores.
When he speaks about his background
(http://www.disturb.org/goldeng.html) he says nothing of any
involvement with Lennon.
I agree with nancylynn-ga that he is too young to have played on the
Lennon album of 1970.
Hope that clarifies my answer!

Hi steve42-ga:

I tried researching this question before westie-ga answered it and I
too came up empty. The only hits I got were radio stations that have
both Goldfrapp and Lennon on their playlists.

I did find a photo of Will Gregory at Google Image Search:
http://images.google.com/

and typing in "Will Gregory" Goldfrapp, I got this link:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=www.choler.com/images/featuresart/thumbs/goldfrapp_thumb.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.choler.com/music/&h=100&w=100&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%2522Will%2BGregory%2522%2BGoldfrapp%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26sa%3DG

It's not a great photo, as you'll see, but I couldn't find any better
ones. (It seems Mr. Gregory doesn't like to be photographed.) But
Gregory appears to be too young to have helped Lennon record "Imagine"
circa 1970.

There is a message board at the Goldfrapp site
http://www.goldfrapp.co.uk/ that westie-ga found for you, and you
could post your query there. But I haven't found any evidence of a
Goldfrapp/Lennon connection.

Regards,
nancylynn-ga
