Hi, David!
Are you the guy from Texas?
That phone call came from either Bethesda, Maryland, or Chevy Chase,
Maryland (which are EXTREMELY close to Washington, DC:

).
According to an AT&T Anywho Phone Directory Reverse Lookup, that
number is unlisted.

It may be that the phone call was really intended for you, or it may
be that the call was a wrong number. It is also possible that the fax
was intended for you, but they dialed your phone number instead of
your fax number, realized it at the last second, and cut the
connection. Did you receive any faxes shortly after this?
It is highly likely that that phone number is attached to a fax at a
business. It may be busy because they are currently faxing a LARGE
document, or because they are sending a lot of faxes all at once. Or
it may belong to an employee whose fax and phone use the same line,
and who is in the middle of a marathon phone call. Furthermore,
businesses often have the ability to make certain phone numbers
inaccessible to people dialing directly from outside; that *might*
also explain the busy signal (although it is not likely in this case,
since they wouldn't be able to *receive* faxes on this machine).
A Google search on this number did not find a match.
"(205)497-0116" or "205-497-0116" or "205 497 0116"
Google usually ignores parentheses, dashes and periods (they are
considered equivalent to spaces) in searches, so these search phrases
would appear identical to the Googler.
However, a Google search on
"(205)479" or "205-479-"
reveals quite a few businesses which have phone lines with this area
code and prefix. Here is a sampling: perhaps you have dealings with
one of the businesses on this list.

whether the phone call was really intended for you, and if so,
possibly even where it originated!
