Question ID: 177597
I would like to know where I can purchase QUALITY fantasy artwork
(dungeons and dragons, dragonlance, pretty much anything on this genre
etc type themes) for use on my business website. Examples of the type
of quality I am
looking for is found at the various pages of www.ige.com

I have tried emailing a few places but I didn't get any reply so
hopefully you will know a couple places that make it real easy for you
to buy artwork to use on a commercial website. I am trying to avoid
the email us and wait approach =)

hello again deklar!!
I take it, you have'nt heard from Rodney Matthews yet?!...
I have spent some time looking at various artists' work which look
suitable, and i have been studying their terms of useage, which all
seem to be along the same lines. i.e. to email them about your
intentions, or you can use their artwork, but not alter it and include
a copyright notice by their pictures and/or a link back to their
website. I don't know whether you will find a place where you can just
purchase some artwork, and then do what you like with their work
--unless is it offered as freeware, or a ready-made webset. One
artist i came across who may be suitable, is "MEILIN WONG"...
---------------------------------------------------------
MEILIN WONG's website:
http://www.freondream.com/gallery/index.html
Meilin Wong's art usage policy:
http://www.freondream.com/gallery/art_policy.html
---------------------------------------------------------
If you like this kind of artwork, and the terms specified, then let me
know and i'll see if i can find similar sources for you. In the
meantime i'll leave the question open in case another researcher may
be able to help you.
regards

JB -

I did email Rodney Matthews last week (My previous questions was to
track down who he was and the person who answered it did a great job).
The problem is they never responded to my emails. So I am still
looking for a place where I can purchase the right to use fantasy
images like those on my site. Thanks! Jonathan

Hi there,

I have looked through a great deal of websites by fantasy artists and
finally found what appears to be perfect for your need. He is very
well recognized for his art work, having work commissioned for the
most prominent fantasy games out there. The style is very similar to
those seen on ige.com
I am awaiting his reply; should be received soon. I will let you know
as soon as I get a reply.

On a site note, you've mentioned that you tried to contact Rodneys
Matthews with no luck over email. I found a phone number which you
might have better luck talking to someone with:
Phone: +44 1678 520892, Fax: +1 678 365 2899
Unfortunately it'll be an international call since the phone number is
a UK one.

Best of luck,
Tox-ga

Hi there Deklar,
The artist I was referring to is Keith Parkinson
(http://www.keithparkinson.com/)
His artwork appears on many of the best selling products in the
computer game and publishing industries. Current hits include
"Everquest" online computer game and book covers for Terry Goodkind,
Terry Brooks and David Eddings.
His background information can be found here:
http://www.keithparkinson.com/bio/index.html

You can see his art work here:
http://www.keithparkinson.com/gallery/landscapes/index.html
http://www.keithparkinson.com/gallery/dragons/index.html

You can browse through the rest of the gallery through this link:
http://www.keithparkinson.com/gallery/index.html

He has recently moved from AZ to CA and his phone number/email is not
posted on the site. I emailed the customer service representative
that he has and asked him your question. He has replied, from his
personal email address, that he'd like to discuss it directly through
that email. This is his personal email, checked daily, so you will be
able to discuss/negotiate terms with him without having email blindly
and wait for a response.
The contact is: keithparkinson@earthlink.net

I will tell him to expect an email from Jonathan.

Best of luck,
Tox-ga
