Please connect me to an affordable solicitor (based in the US) who has knowledge about copyright laws. Bottom line, I need a solicitor who's willing to take on goliath for practically nothing or on a profit sharing basis. I have a very, very strong case and I need to act quickly. FYI I have served a copyright infringement notice (GA ID: 17605) as per the DMCA requisite but the offending web site is refusing to take down my material and their ISP is ignoring my request to remove, or disable access to the material. I need help fast. Thank you. Small time businessman

Whizhost: As the one who answered your question before, I am familiar with your situation. I'm sorry to hear that it hasn't been resolved yet, and thanks for choosing Google Answers once again. A web search for legal services specializing in intellectual property turned up a few links which might be just what you're looking for. The "profit-sharing" term you described above seems to be known in the world of law as "contingency basis". - "Copyright protection and litigation are something we handle regularly. If you have a work for which you need protection or believe someone has infringed your work, you should speak to us." [ http://www.kyroslaw.com/articles/copyright_sub.html ] - [ http://www.trademarkgurus.biz/_wsn/page8.html ] - "Loeb & Loeb will work with early stage clients on a contingency basis [...]" http://www.loeb.com/FSL5CS/practiceareadescriptions/practiceareadescriptions74.asp - "Intellectual Property Protection: Copyright© and Trademark® registration; trade secret protection; infringement litigation through our network of litigation specialists." http://www.freibrunlaw.com/services.htm You can find plenty of lawyers specializing in intellectual property here: [ http://directory.findlaw.com/lawyer/servlet/PStateFirm?practice=FL31 ] I hope this helps. If you're able to provide details on your situation, I'd be glad to email and call some people until I find what you're looking for. -- Sam Kennedy

Hello, You may find the Copyright Law links at BitLaw ( http://www.bitlaw.com ) helpful in a general sense. Sometimes knowledge of the law builds confidence when you meet with an attorney about your situation. As for formal legal representation, a state bar association should be able to refer you to an attorney specializing in Internet and/or copyright law. Many bar associations will set you up with an initial consultation for well under $50. Since you are in Florida, a good place to start may be the Florida Bar Association ( http://www.flabar.org ). Unfortunately their site isn't the most user-friendly. If you click on the Consumer Services link on the left side of the page, you will be taken to another page with a sub-menu below it. Take the Lawyer Referral link on the left hand side of the page, and you will find details on how to obtain an initial one-half hour office consultation for no more than $25. Here's their contact information: 1-800-342-8011 or 1-800-342-8060 extension 5844. Should you discover that you require a lawyer based in Texas, here is the URL for the Texas Bar Association's lawyer referral service: http://www.texasbar.com/public/findlawyer/lawyerref.asp According to that web page, Your 30 minutes of legal consultation will cost you $20. After the initial half-hour, it is up to you and the attorney to negotiate fees if you decide to authorize the lawyer to take action on your legal problem. Here's their phone number: 1-800-252-9690 or 1-877-9TEXBAR. Please note that this web site is for Texas counties without their own legal referral service. So if you call, they may pass you on to another lawyer referral service. If you happen to know the county or general metropolitan area of the offender in Texas, you can go to this site and scroll down to the Texas links: http://www.lawinfo.com/barassoc.html Best wishes for a speedy and successful resolution to your problem!
