Fraudulent? I don't know... but it certainly does not seem to be professional to me. My guess is that they make a commission from a third party for any loans that result from the form being filled out. (I repeat that this is just a guess.) tisme-ga |

excuse me for assuming that u meant Lendingtree.com
and since ledingtree is not owned by the same corporation as
lendingtree.com it would be a reasonable assumption that it is a
copycat or imitation site hopeing to catch visitors who mistype the "
N " in lendingtree.com
BTW the WHOIS for lendingtree.com (the actual Site goes as follows)

The site http://www.ledingtree.com is obviously trying to take advantage of the occasional typographical error that leads someone who is looking for "lendingtree.com" to their site by mistake. And here's another one: http://www.lednintree.com/ Hmm. Look familiar? Do we see a pattern here? I wouldn't trust these guys with my personal financial data. |

Here's one clue: The e-mail address for the administrative contact looks suspicious (mortgageloansok@yahoo.com). I would not trust them. |

This same company seems to have bought up some of the other misspellings of lendingtree, but the real company must have caught on, because some misspellings redirect you to the Lendingtree.com website. There is another misspelling that redirects you to a site called www.mortgagecreditproblems.com. There is also one that takes you to a site which is "Under construction" Finally if you type in www.leaningtree.com you go to a site which sells greeting cards and gifts. (I know, that one has nothing to do with loans) Kind of makes you wonder how many other "misspelled" sites there are out there and how successful they are at either stealing customers from the original business or obtaining info fraudulently. I certainly wouldn't put my personal info, including SSN into a form on a website that doesn't even identify who they are. |

If you check around, there are many companies with less than honorable intentions who have common misspellings of popular sites. Also reminds me of a story I saw about a hotel reservation company who had the phone number 1-800-H zero L I D A Y because so many people were dialing a zero instead of an O to get the HOLIDAY INN line. |
