Dear keithofrpi, Though the version you quoted mirrors the core of Horace's statement, the correct original quotation is actually: "Graecia capta ferum victorem cepit et artes intulit agresti Latio" (= Captured Greece seized the ferocious victor and brought the arts into rustic Latium.).
