I'm looking for articles that have some numerical data about the type of internet access available to U.S. troops in the field. Specifically, I'd like estimates as to the numbers of troops that have broadband internet access to commercial web sites available, with information as to the number of sites where such access is provided. |

Our son is in the vicinity of Iraq and was in Afganistan last year. In neither case was he allowed to communicate by computer, or even snail mail, so my guess is only a very few of our troops have broad band access to commercial web sites. Exceptions would be a real need for the mission, and none for individual convenience. Neil |

Neil, Thanks for your comment. That is helpful information, and seems to correlate with some other reports I've seen. I guess I may not get an answer to this question... |
