I continue to get an error message stating:

Assertion failed in file D:\Projects
3.60\Client\COMET_CLIENT\BHO\CSBHO.cpp line 581

Why am I getting this and what do I need to do to keep it from
reoccurring?

Hi skeet1335:

Thanks for the interesting question. I can see how this problem would
be troubling you!

I did a search for the error message that you are receiving and was
able to find the following message thread on it (and how to fix it).

message ''comet assertion''needed to open files''
URL: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winme/t1021046417

If you read through that discussion by someone suffering from an
identical problem, you'll see that your computer may be "infected" by
some spyware.

The link for Ad-aware from Lavasoft has changed to

Ad-aware
URL: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

You'll note that there is a download link to the right of this page.

Download this program, install, and run it and see if that clears up
your problem. If not, please let me know using the Clarification
Request feature.

Thanks.

Search Strategy (on Google):

CSBHO
"CSBHO.cpp"
"assertion failed in file" CSBHO.cpp
