know *exactly* how many Tenreiros there are in the U.S. However, I can
provide you with a fairly reliable range (and the loic to back it up)
if that will do.

This page from the census website provides the frequency of many names
(first and surnames) in the 1990 census:
http://www.census.gov/genealogy/names .  Tenreiro wasn't listed, but
you can use it to find the frequency of other names.

There are zero listed with that spelling in the main residential
section  of the Jacksonville, Florida phone book at least 1/2 million
people, most adults came from elsewhere in the USA, so my guess is
fewer than 1000, many of whom are related to you. I also found zero in
Kissimmee/St. Cloud 100,000 people just South-East of Disney World,
Florida which also likely has about 1/2 of the adults from elsewhere
in the USA.  Neil

younger than 20 or so.
