I would like to modify my DVD player so it can play DVDs from anywhere
in the world. I live in Melbourne, Australia and it is a Region 4
player. Could you please supply the contact details for
somebody who could do it for me? They would need to be in Melbourne,
preferably central. I know this is easliy achieved for
Playstation 2, but have had no luck finding a source for a normal
Panasonic DVD player.
thanks very much

Perhaps their is a non-technician solution available - what is the make and model?

Here's how an Australian did it:

Another thread from Australians with the same problem:

The best solution seems to ask at the store where you purchased it.
Or, failing that, any local store that sells Panasonic DVDs might be
capable of doing it.

I'd try Camberwell Electronics - their Yellow Pages ad says they are
authorised to repair Panasonics:

Camberwell Electronics
98 Canterbury Road
Camberwell
9830-2220

They are not open today (Sunday).

Otherwise just try other businesses listed on page 2964-2965 of the
Melbourne Yellow Pages.

there are some leads for region 2 players at:
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks.php?select=Panasonic%20RV32

Be careful, you might lose the guarantee, and some of those can damage your player!

Hi there
I'm an Aussie too and I also bought the Panasonic DVD with just Region
4 capability. What we did was go back to the store where they gave me
an application form and once I'd sent that off to Panasonic, they
posted me a DVD disc which came with the instructions. All I did was
put it in and it did the rest. We can now play all regions' DVDs.
