If you're a guitarist:
One string more than needed. (to strangle the drummers)

If you're a drummer:
A waste of two hands.

ba-dump ching!

Heh, thanks for the funny question. I had a blast answering it.

I asked my 10 year old this question.

He said "It's a hand, Mom. Duh." Looks like Webadept nailed it.

Maybe I'm thick, but could someone explain the answer "hand"?

5 drummers have no hands because they are all waisted, and a guitarist
has one hand because the other is wasted.

so 0 hands times 5 = 0

then 0 + 1 (guitar hand) = 1 hand or just HAND

Really I was thinking that you can drum your fingers on a single hand
and what "plays" a guitar is a single hand. The other hand doesn't
"play" the guitar, it adjusts string length, but.. that's just my
thoughts. Hence the comment rather than an answer.
