Hello kemlo
I was rather surprised to find that Helen Smith is still unburied.
"Arabian Nightmare", a book published in 1999, dealing with the case
from the point of view of Dr. Arnot (host at the tragic party), says
on the back cover:
"And the body of Helen Smith lies, still unburied, in a Leeds
mortuary."

In 2001, her father was still pursuing the case and presumably still
wishing his daugher's body to be kept in the mortuary:
" The files are still open on the case of Helen Smith, the nurse who
died 22 years ago at a wife-swapping party in Jedda. The Saudis say
she fell from a sixth-floor balcony while she was drunk and having sex
with a married man. Her father, Ron Smith, a retired British
policeman, is still trying to prove that she was raped and murdered."

I may be going out on a limb here, but as a regular reader of the
British press who is old enough to remember reports of Helen Smith's
sad death in 1979, I am fairly confident I would have noticed if there
had been any change in Ron Smith's attitude. A funeral would
undoubtedly have been covered by the news media.
However, if I have overlooked something here and you think things have
changed since the 1999/2001 situation, please let me know and I will
carry on investigating! In any case, please get back to me if anything
needs clarification.
