Hello guy221,

I'm sorry my colleague was unable to locate information specific to
the topic of your query. Perhaps the following resources will be
useful to you. I've listed several websites and documents that detail
student opinion regarding the study of history:

Student Opinion

A document from University of South Carolina at Spartanburg showing
the results of a student history survey, and correlating statistics
from university enrollments. I have linked Google's cached HTML
document. The Word version of the document is also available.

Student Learning Assessment

Statistical analysis of University of Minnesota students, reporting
the results of a survey on the effectiveness of specific course work,
including history.

Student Opinion - Study of History

Student opinion gathered in order to select student members of
Princeton's History Student Advisory committee(s).

Student Opinion - Reviews

Brown University Student Reviews provides frequently updated student
opinion of University courses. You may select any semester, then
select [HI} for reviews of History courses and seminars.

You'll find additional data, reports and surveys by repeating the
following Google searches.

"student opinion" history courses OR classes
"student reviews" history courses OR classes
"student surveys" history courses OR classes
"student learning assessment" history

Hope this helps,

Very recent history and/or older history is important to every carreer
in my opinion. Self motivated people can learn history with out taking
any formal instruction in the subject. Numerios books and magazines
are available free at libraries and there are on line sources. Even
mediocure encyclopedias, cover many topic in history with less bias
and spin than most prophesors of history and the text books the
history department selects. So many changes have occured in human
society that we can not predict the future from how things went a
century or more ago, besides history has been edited (propaganda and
politically correct) so much of it did not happen that way. I find it
helpful to read week or month old newspapers to compare how history
has been rewritten even in that brief a time. Neil
