Dear guntherg,
My research showed that there is obviously only one manufacturer who
used "Leni's" as a brand name for jeans before 1995. It is a Brazilian
company. Here is full contact information for them:
Leni's Jeans
Confecções Leni's Ltda.
Avenida Calistrato M. Salles, nº457
Progresso
Laguna
Santa Catarina, 88790-000
Brazil
Phone: +55(0)48-644-1055
Fax: +55(0)48-644-1649
E-Mail: lenis@lenis.com.br
Website: http://www.lenis.com.br/
Leni's Ltda. use, according to their website, that name since 1991.
Research in the Brazilian Trademark Office's database also revealed
that since 22 May 2001, there's a protest of the Levi Strauss Co.
("Levi's") pending with the Trademark Office against the use of
"Leni's" by the Brazilian company.
