I used some kind of recover utility (R-Studio, Active File recovery, etc) to scan the drive for deleted files, I am not interested in recovering those files but would like to find out when the files were deleted. Is there anyway to do that at all? I am not interesed in the standard created, modified, accessed dates. I am running Windows 2000 Professional, FAT32 file system. If I went ahead and recovered the file, will there be any trace of it ever being deleted? If I recovered the file, used some kind of "safe secure delete" programs to permanently delete it, will there be any trace of it ever being deleted, existed or retrieve the deletion timestamp? |

You can't figure out the date it was deleted as far as I know but the program I use will give the date last modified you can use that to guess when it was deleted. If you used secure delete program it wouldn't have any traces of the file ever being existed because it would have to rewrite that sector of the hard drive. |
