this time the subject pretty much says it all.

i am looking for a cell phone style speaker with maximum dimensions of
1.4mm thick x 8mm diameter

usually these have spring contacts, but other types of circuit board
mounting (smt solder, or through holes) are acceptable as well.

i would like to find the part number, manufacturer, etc. or a
currently available/shipping stock product.

thanks.

I've not found anything as thin as your requirements (1.5mm) as the
new Panasonic WM-R30B speakers:

http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/components/pdf/card_speaker_dne.pdf

They are as flat as flat can be, but they are still too big
diameter-wise (at 30mm). I'm not sure if a speaker of your requested
dimensions exists as the magnets required to move the cone have to
have sufficient mass. Even the smallest speakers I've found with some
of the most powerful magnets (neodymium) are still either a) way too
large, or b) way too thick for your application.

Hello.

Hard to believe these speakers have gotten so tiny, and hard to
believe you need them even tinier!

I've found 'em at 8.5 x 4 mm, and another at 2 x 15 mm, but they don't
seem to come much smaller than that. I have a few queries out though,
so we'll see what turns up. In the mean time, please let us know if
you have any flexibility in your requirements, or if the numbers you
gave are absolute.

Thanks.

sorry, i can't seem to carve out any more space for a speaker.

i may well be asking for the impossible.

Are the dimensions of 1.4 mm thick x 8mm diameter the absolute biggest
you can go? Would a 8mm diameter, 3mm thick be workable? It might help
to know what type of project your planning on using this speaker for,
if you dont mind telling?

Hi 1800,

I found some sites that seem to have this kind of speaker. I have
emailed them regarding this and is still waiting for their reply. I
hope you bear with us because I'm sure that other researchers are also
working on this.

By the way, how many units do you need?

unfortunately, i cannot give exact figures or application at this
time, but it is a pretty reasonable volume.

The companies I emailed have responded and the results are negative.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to find the item you are looking for. Perhaps
other researchers will be able to find it for you.
