I would like to know, as specifically as possible, the equations used
in the PlayStation2 game Socom to grade the performance of the
one-player missions. Please do not answer with general advice on how
to play the game - I only want the equations behind the percentages
and grades.
1) How is stealth scored? Things I would imagine might go into the
equation -Does it matter if other bad guys see me before I kill one of
their own? Does it matter if a bad guy sees me right before I kill
him? Does it matter if he sees me but doesn't get a shot off?
2) How is accuracy scored? Is it simply (hits / shots taken)? Do
stealth attacks (knife, rifle butt) enter into the equation? Do I get
higher accuracy scores for kill shots in the head, or as long as the
bad guy gets hit *somewhere* is that okay? Does the accuracy score
only get measured on Kahuna's performance, or are the shots taken by
the entire team calculated?
3) How is teamwork calculated? Does it have anything to do with what
percentage of the bad guys are killed by me vs. Team Bravo? Does it
have to do with the mere volume of orders I issue, or does the
relevance of the orders come into play (if so, how)? Do I get docked
if my team members die?
4) How are the letter grades calculated ('A', 'B', 'C'). Are there
minimum thresholds for stealth, accuracy, teamwork and number of
primary and secondary objectives achieved for each grade? Or is it
more complex than that?
Again, general advice on strategies that have been shown to improve
scores is NOT what I'm looking for ("Use knife attacks to improve your
stealth rating") - I *only* want to know the hard equations that are
used by the game to score me.
