Here is the medicare publication which outlines the benefits given to Medicare recipients concerning mental health. http://www.medicare.gov/publications/pubs/pdf/mental.pdf All the information that I found concerning Medicaid was different depending on which state I found the information was on. In Georgia, mental health care covered by Medicaid is different than coverage for other healthcare needs. Since 1998, GA Medicaid has functioned in a managed care environment in which services need to be pre-approved prior to treatment rendered. However, I'm not sure how this compares to other state Medicaid programs, or to Medicare. |
