Question ID: 180271
I need to know how much crustacean seafood waste was generated in the
UK in 2001?
(I know that 57,137 million metric tons (MT) of crustaceans were
produced in the UK in 2001, but in order to give an fairly accurate
estimate of how much was produced actually ended up as waste I need
the question answered!)

Hello batesy

Despite the huge amount of information on possible uses for crustacean
waste, there are only a few references to the proportion of the
overall catch ending up as waste.

Would you be happy with an estimate, based on more than one source,
which isn't specifically related to the UK industry? Just let us know
if this would be helpful.
