Question ID: 180301
I’m looking for companies that purchase large amounts of books
(1,000+) at high discounts (around 25%=30% of cover price). Usually
they buy surplus or remainders of print runs.

These companies may sell to wholesalers such as BJ’s, CostCo’s, etc…
and Book Outlets.

Thanks.

I found once such company a while ago, but I lost the link. I’m
looking for a couple (3-4).

These companies purchase the rest of a printing from a publisher at
75% (or more) off retail price to sell them to book discounters,
outlets, computer shows, etc… This is where the people on the street
that are selling books in NYC are supposedly getting the books from.

I’m looking for a couple of companies that do this. Or any company for
that matter that is looking for a large lot (100-1000+) copies of a
book at a big discount.

I’ll up the price to $10. I hope this helps the incentive.

Thanks.

If it matters... I'm referring to technical/computer books.

Yes, these are very similar to what I was looking for. I found two of
these after ‘giving up’ on the question I posted. Some of the things
that I have learned to look for are ‘remainders’, ‘hurt’,
‘overstock’, ‘print surplus’, etc..

Find me a couple more and you can have the answer. Thanks!

I also used site names to look for related sites.

I don't think that these places purchase books in large lots. I think
they purchase them from Ingram or another distributer.

Thank you for the 5-Star rating. Greatly appreciated.
I was just curious if you thought about selling to used bookstores like:

jroff-ga rated this answer:5 out of 5 stars
On the contrary, I'm looking to sell books, not buy them.

Thanks for your help.
