What companies actually manufacture the electric-shock units that pet-containment system suppliers use on their collars. Companies like Innotek, D.T. Systems, PetSafe, and Tri-tronics sell collars for training and containing dogs. If they outsource the electronic module that provides the electric shock, who do they buy this from? |

I used to work at Innotek, so I can tell you that they do all their own manufacturing, including the circuit boards. This way they have control over such things as stimulation intensity and incremental options (aka different stim level settings). They have a whole line of engineers that develop these boards and do all sorts of quality testing to make sure they meet electronic industry standards and such, as well as of course ensuring that the circuit board does what it is supposed to do without any complications. As for the other manufacturers, I don't have any idea what processes they use. -Scott http://www.armsent.com - Innotek Training Collars |
