Google answers Hello. Suppose I am a consumer who likes going on shopping sprees. I am interested in visiting ALL larger economic cities around the world to buy all sorts of goods (fashion, electronics etc.) at retail shops. Could you name me a variety of websites where I could prepare my upcoming shopping spree? My interest will be to have free access to: 1. International city shopping guides (info about the city infrastructure, highstreet, parking, public transportation and pricing, consumers buying power in this city, etc.) 2. In those international cities what retailers will I find? Is there a database where I can browse the retailers corporate identity and maybe see a picture of the shop? Ideally I would like to find a single stop website that can offer all information that interests shopping maniacs (1 and 2). Alternatively where do I get such specific information scattered over the world wide web? Many thanks in advance. | |

As a traveler who loves shopping 'round he world, I'd love to know about some shopping websites -- but in the meantime, can can recommend two lines of books: the famous BORN TO SHOP guides by Suzy Gershman, now published by Frommer. (BORN TO SHOP LONDON, BORN TO SHOP PARIS, BORN TO SHOP ITALY, etc. etc.) And the WHERE TO WEAR guides, published by Fairchild & Gallagher, which cover London, New York and other cities.. I think there's also Paris, Milan, Rome, Tokyo & Sydney. Suzy's books often have info that's wrong or out of date, but they're still pretty comprehensive and include more than clothes. The Where to Wear ones are more trendy. Maybe they both have websites. |

Thank you for the book info. I am aware about literature but my interests are online resources who are free. Important is that I am not looking for just shopping guides for the main cities (New York, London, Paris ) I want to have the ability to choose a country, lets say Switzerland, and there I would like to see the city shopping guides for: Bern as the main city but also for Freiburg, Geneva, Lausanne, Luzern, Schaffahusen, Winterthur and Zurich. I dont expect to get in-depth information as in a books. Also what shops will I find there beside fashion stores, what products, pricing, services thank you for your support. |
