I would like to find the names and addresses of private schools and colleges which would accept applications for a 16 year old girl for the full time study of AS and A2's ("A" Levels) The family seeking the school for their daughter is moving to live in London in June 2003. They need to enrol their daughter, currently taking GCSE exams, for the new academic year starting in September 2003. The schools/colleges should be of good repute. They should be in or near Central London, north of the River Thames, preferably near Regent's Park. The subjects offered at "A" level must include Music, English, Economics, Maths, Politics and preferably, though not essentially, Drama. |

Hello sheilakm: Thanks for the interesting question. The stringent criteria you require eliminated most of all the private schools/colleges I was able to locate. After a couple of hours of searching/browsing, the only two schools left in my list were: DAVIES, LAING & DICK INDEPENDENT SIXTH FORM COLLEGE (DLD) Website: http://www.dld.org/aa_index.html Courses: http://www.dld.org/courses/courses.html Admissions: http://www.dld.org/applications/cc_right.html Location: 10 Pembridge Square Notting Hill London W2 4ED Tel. +44(0)20 7727 2797 Fax.+44(0)20 7792 0730 Map: http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=W2%204ED&scale=100000 LANSDOWNE COLLEGE Website: http://www.lansdownecollege.com/ Courses: http://www.lansdownecollege.com/subjects.htm Admissions: http://www.lansdownecollege.com/admissions.htm Location: 40-44 Bark Place Bayswater London W2 4AT Tel. +44(0)20 7616 4400 Fax.+44(0)20 7616 4401 Map: http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=W24AT&scale=100000 The best (most thorough, most authoritative) listings of London-based private schools I was able to find were at: Schools in the London Area URL: http://www.ukprivateschools.com/london.htm Good Schools Guide URL: http://www.goodschoolsguide.co.uk/?source=Sprinks (Enter the postal code "NW1 6XR" and click "Go".) If you wish to expand on the number of schools to investigate, you will need to relax your criteria some. The best places to start would be all (or some combination) of: * Location (i.e., closeness to Regent's Park) * Courses Offered (remove either music and/or Politics) I hope this information helps in your search. If you need any clarification of this information, please ask using the Clarification Request feature. And please allow me to provide any needed clarifications before rating this answer. Thanks. websearcher-ga Search Strategy (on Google): "private schools" london "private schools" england "private schools" UK | |
