Hello goman-ga,

I thought I’d give you a quick answer but a quick answer is not
possible when dealing with a conglomerate as complex as McGraw-Hill.
In their own words, “The McGraw-Hill Companies is a global information
services provider serving the financial services, education and
business information markets through leading brands such as Standard &
Poor's, BusinessWeek and McGraw-Hill Education. In 2001, The
Corporation had operations in 33 countries, and sales of $4.6
billion.”

Focusing on education and e-learning narrows things a little bit but
still leaves a huge organization.

Hi CZH-ga,
Thanks for your quick reply. The cases that you have given are all of
partners who offer technology products on which McGraw-Hill eLearning
courses/tests are delivered-ebrary tools which allow professors to
access McGraw-hill courses,or Infoally for students to access these
courses, or Avaya which has given content for a course on Customer
Relationship Management-CRM. They do not do development of courses.
I am looking for vendors who do custom development of courses for
which design and content are provided by the publisher- McGraw-hill in
this case.
Hope you will be able to get me some.
Thanks
Goman-ga

Hello goman-ga,

Thanks for the clarification. As you know, McGraw-Hill publishing is
huge. What level (K-12, college, professional) course-work content are
you looking for? Can you give me an example (even from some other
publisher) that would clearly illustrate what would be a good find?
Thanks.

A custom content development company produces the digital version of
content for learning- based on the Instructional design framework of
the publisher, and the content from a subject matter expert. Most of
these companies do instructional design themselves, but publishers
like McGraw-hill prefer to do their own ID, and the development task
is outsourced to the vendor. Despite the use of tools, contracting is
till very prevalent as the tools have limitations.
It is immaterial what level-K-12, Higher Ed or Professional- as core
skills are of graphics and software like HTML and Flash and not of the
contents. One such company I can give as an example is Learnstream
from Canada- which earlier used to be First Class Systems.
Hope this helps you

Hello again goman-ga,

Your clarification helped a lot. I’ve found some custom course
development companies that have produced work for McGraw Hill that
seem to be a close fit for your requirements. In addition, I’ve
included a couple that seem to be in the field but they could also be
considered to be content distributors. I hope this meets your needs.
