Question ID: 181099
Interested to know about any websites that provide videos or virtual
tours of hotels? Most interested in sites that do it well ie quick
loading and high quality. We have been unable to find any that provide
virtual tours of listed hotels and/or aspects of their accomodation
facilities. We have found a few sites offering moving still pictures
and small streaming videos. eg www.hotelview.com ; www.leonardo.com ;
www.travelago.com. Mainly interested in sites offering videos of
Australian hotel accomdation. eg. Interiors of rooms, exteriors of
hotels, facilities inside hotel especially where user can control
video angle. Also interested in production companies that specialize
in shooting this content.

Howdy djd!

The best examples of hotel tours appear to be at the
web sites of producers of such tours. Here are three
tour production companies.

There is the international Photo Web USA:
http://www.photowebusa.com/

"PhotoWeb, the virtual tour experts, has been providing
digital imaging solutions for the web since 1994. Based
in Winter Park, Florida, Colorado Springs, Colorado and
London, England, PhotoWeb provides services worldwide."

They have over 100 hotel tours from all over the world,
including 7 Australian hotels:

Radisson Resort Gold Coast
http://www.photowebusa.com/goldcoast/

Radisson Plaza Hotel at the Pier-Cairns
http://www.photowebusa.com/pier-cairns/

Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne
http://www.photowebusa.com/flagstaff-melbourne/

Radisson Playford Hotel and Suites Adelaide
http://www.photowebusa.com/adelaide/

Radisson Treetops Resort Port Douglas
http://www.photowebusa.com/treetops/

Radisson Hotel & Suites Sydney
http://www.photowebusa.com/sydney/

Radisson Plaza Hotel Sydney
http://www.photowebusa.com/plazasydney/

You will need the free Internet Pictures Corporation's
iPIX "plug-in" to view some of the Photo Web images:
http://www.ipix.com/download.html

Show Hotel has examples of panorama, streaming video as
well as slideshow tours, that they have produced of hotels
throughout the US:
http://www.showhotel.com/

Show Hotel has two (Standard and Custom) tour packages:
http://www.showhotel.com/tour.htm

"The standard virtual tour package offers an economical
solution to incorporate all of the virtual tour features
in a property's website."

"The custom virtual tour package utilizes all of the
latest Internet multimedia components into one complete
presentation."

Another producer of interactive tours is Lush VR:
http://www.lushvr.com/

"Lush VR are leading producers of high quality 360°
Interactive Panoramas for the online Travel, Tourism,
Retail, Music, Art and Leisure industry."

Their client showcase page highlights some of their
tours in QuickTime and Java formats:
http://www.lushvr.com/clientshowcase/index.html

As an example, they have a tour of the Bergerac Hotel:
http://www.lushvr.com/southernhotels/bergerac/index.html

Most browsers will support the Java format, but you will
have to download the free QuickTime player to see the
one in the QuickTime format:

The Übergossene Alm in Austria provides an extensive
online tour, also utilizing iPIX:
http://www.alm.co.at/en/virtuelle_alm.shtml

"The best thing to do is to take a walk through the
welcoming atmosphere and unique well-being facilities
of the Übergossene Alm right now. Our virtual tour of
the Übergossene Alm takes you through the rooms,
restaurant, surroundings, Hochkönig World of Vitality
