Having made my own shampoo once or twice, I can tell you that if
you're using any recipe which includes organic components (such as
eggs, oil derived from animals, etc.) your recipe won't last more than
three weeks TOPS even with refridgerating. You'd have to invest in
commercial preservatives, and or pay special attention to some of the
natural preservatives mentioned in the recipes. (i.e. "add to it 2
drops of styrax (storax) oil or benzoin resin oil") This might push
the shelf life to about two months. But the beauty of these recipes is
that all are very easy to make and make small quantities so that you
will probably finish up your batch long before your two month limit. I
would recommend the book the most, followed by some of the website
recipes listed below. Best of luck!

One last thing. Most of these recipes once made stink to high hell, so
if you're considering selling these, add some fresh flowers for scent
and/or perfume depending on how good you want your homemade potions to
smell. Good luck and I hope I've answered your question!

Dear Alicia,

A great source of natural beauty products is "The World's Best-Kept
Beauty Secrets" by Diane Irons.
