I think you may need to provide the "much higher price" first as you are asking some fantastic highly credible and honest as the day is long researchers to do good research on the off-chance that your "higher price" will (a) actually be paid, (b) be a realistic higher price and not just an escalation from 2 dollars to 5 dollars (c) etc etc. They wont let you down if you first take the chance on a decent fee, i.e they would not respond and expect a fee unless they were confident they were supplying you the right product |

The value of a business usually takes into account such things as turnover, and running costs, as well as the real estate value. For a business such as yours the timing of likely refurbishment would come into account, as well as whether valuable staff members such as your chef intended to remain with the business or go elsewhere. Is the property one where the owners can expect to live-in? That would be an added attraction for some people. The length of time you have been in operation will also be a factor, as will the degree to which the name has become established, whether you have a significant repeat client base ("good will"), and the nature of your advertising. Your website is pleasant, but perhaps rather simple for a site promoting 5-star luxury. I doubt if it's possible to give you a realistic assessment without access to some of your figures, which I imagine you do not want to post in a space such as this which can be viewed by anyone. You'll need to look at the GST rules regarding the sale of a business, too. |
