When I was young, I remember a lovely song we learned for a school
performance. The words I remember went something like this, "The
sandman comes a creeping, beneath the windowsill." There was another
part about how the trees "nod their heads together, their friendly
leaves entwine". Then "Sleep now, sleep now, oh sleep little child of
mine". There were more verses too.
My Google search found one song, which is clearly related, that was by
an unknown author but adapted by Louis Untermeyer. But I would still
love to get my hands on the words and music for the version that I
remember. |
