I am looking for a list of the top 30 - 50 magazine subscriptions sold
either on the Internet, newsstands, or in stores in the past year. 
The lastest the list the better.

I have located a list of the top 300 magazines in the U.S. by total gross revenue. 
This is the most recently published: September 23, 2002.

This ranking includes:

Name of magazine
Total Gross 2001 Revenue
Ad Revenue
Ad Pages
Subscriber Revenue
Newsstand Revenue
Paid Circulation

Top could mean number of readers, total seconds read, total words
read, most effective advertising, most profit to stock holders and
several other criteria that could be added with appropriate finagle
factors. It does not seem reasonable to add internet hits to copies
delivered and purchased.   Neil

Again to clarify, I am interested in the name of magazine (example:
People, Sports Illistrated, Time, etc) and the number of gross
subscriptions sold to the consumer.  This would give me the an idea of
the popularity of magazine.

You are correct, it does give an idea, except some of these
subscriptions are sold in package deals, and I suspect some are
trashed without being opened.  Neil
