More apologies, Jesse24 Unfortunately our entire conversation vanished when the original answer was removed, and so the next researcher has also misinterpreted your question. I have sent tisme-ga a message about this and I imagine he will contact the editors. We do want to find you your answer, although I think this will be difficult. You might wish to add a clarification note to your question, spelling out the exact details of what you want - for instance, would the date of mailing the warrant of pardon be a satisfactory answer? or must you have the date Rich received it? Hoping you don't have too much longer to wait - Leli NOTE TO RESEARCHERS: The customer would like to know when Marc Rich received written notification of his pardon and does not require the date it was granted. |

Jesse24, I did not realize you wanted the date that the pardon given to the person. I do believe that the person would have been notified by phone and also mailed a pardon. It would not have been hand delivered to him because he was outside of the United States at the time: "When a petition for pardon is granted, the petitioner or his or her attorney shall be notified of such action and the warrant of pardon shall be mailed to the petitioner. When commutation of sentence is granted, the petitioner shall be notified of such action and the warrant of a commutation shall be sent to the petitioner through the officer in charge of his or her place of confinement, or directly to the petitioner if he/she is on parole, probation, or supervised release."
