Sacramento, CA area that imported and also made custom furniture, both
rosewood and lacquered.  Some pieces had a choice of inlay, one of
which was a dragon.  I'd like to contact them to ask about a custom
job.

Exactly the store I was looking for!  When I discussed what I wanted
over the phone
with them, they sent me a photo by email of an alternative not on
their website, so I could tell them precisely what I wanted.
