Question ID: 181881
Where can I find information regarding cable TV channels and their
corresponding numbers for different cable companies in different
regions? For example at www.tvguide.com you can enter your zipcode
and type of cable service you have and you can find out that CNN is
channel 27 whereas in another city CNN may be channel 35. Ideally I
would like to find a database of all channels for every city in the
U.S.

There is no answer at this time.

Thanks but that's not what I need. I realize I can look up any
specific location/service and get the channel listing but I need the
listings for every channel for the whole country--for example to know
that TBS with TimeWarner in chicago is 17 but with Adelphia in miami
it's 32.. w/o doing it by hand :)

I found a site that allows you to search by city,
although the "City Database" information was last updated "12/26/01"
http://www.tvtimes.com/cable/states.htm

Is this what you are looking for?

Thanks, but that's similar to the first link that was posted. When
you go to tvguide.com or something similar, it asks for your location
and type of cable service and it will give you the channel listing.
Their server must have some type of database with all the channel
listings for the country in order to do this. This database is what
i'm looking for. I'm assuming this information must be public
somewhere, like fcc.gov, but I can't find it.
