Hi Alik,

Product safety throughout the EU is governed by Community law. Each EU
country must guarantee the protection provided by Community law in
regard to general product safety and liability for defective products.

If you are in the UK, you can contact your local authority trading
standards department. Phone numbers and contact details can be found
in your local telephone directory.

Or you may be able to find your local office listed here –

Trading Standards Central
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/

The below website explains the Community law rules regarding product
safety and then details how those regulations are enforced in each EU
country. If you are not in the UK, then find your country on the
below website for instructions on who to contact.

Industry. Copies may be obtained, free of charge from: DTI Consumer
Safety Publications.

DTI – QUESTIONS

Q5. To whom should complaints about unsafe products be made? You
should get in touch with your local authority trading standards
department, which can be found in the telephone directory under local
authority.
