Question ID: 181989
How can I increase the resolution of a low resolution photograph.
Specifically I have a low resolution photo on my company website,
which I want to use in a printed hard-copy brochure. For various
reasons I do not have nor can I obtain the original of this photo, nor
can I re-shoot it. All I have is the low resolution file. I need to
"enhance" it so that the actual resolution is increased from 27dpi to
at least 300dpi. My question is how and/or where can I get this
resolution upgrade done; within the limitations specified?

Thanks for asking!

First, I'm going to assume that your original photograph has an actual
resolution of 72 dpi. And that you wish to increase the resolution to
300 dpi or better. For print work, it's also often better to convert
images to CYMK rather than RGB color.

"RGB, CMYK, JPG, EPS, TIFF, DPI and Image Size" explains, and
illustrates the conversion from digital image to print image process
from start to finish. Whether you choose to do it yourself, or have a
professional handle the conversion, it's useful to understand how the
process works.

PROFESSIONAL GRAPHIC ARTISTS
**********************************************************************

A professional graphic artist can perform the image conversion for
you, and will likely be able to further enhance the image, should it
lose some of its sharpness or definition in the process. I've listed
three well-qualified graphic artists, in three countries, on two
continents, since I do not know where you are located. In any case,
you should be able to work via a e-mail and/or postal mail or courier.

This excellent, very thorough answer gives me everything I need and
then some.
I am just so impressed with the the whole "G/A" concept. Being a busy
business man I do not have the time to resource these things myself.
Good on you larre-ga
