tox-ga only
tox-ga can you please locate a source of Sharp CE-126P Thermal
Printers for me in Korea or elsewhere. The units can be new,
secondhand, refurbushed or even "dead". I will pay you USD$20.00 per
(good) unit you locate for me that I can purchase at a fair and
reasonable commercial price up to a maximum of 100 units.

Hi bwll77,

After reading all the notes, earlier, I hate to disappoint you.

My friend just reported back from Japan:

"We spoke with the Japanese vendors - it turns out that
they have no stock, no access to stock of this model.
They list it just as a placeholder.

Sorry, but it looked like a good lead."

What a pity that you are running into all this bait
and switch marketing.

Is there any other device that might work for you,
or can be adapted to your application?

I just hate letting you down.

Best wishes,

Your TaxMama-ga

Attention: taxmamma-ga
Good on you mamma, and thanks for the effort you put in. I am new to
this G/A thing and wish to tip you $20.00 for your efforts here; how
do I do this? I am sure there is a way to do this but I am too busy to
look it all up but want to express my appreciation to you for your
efforts. Please advise me of the most expeditious way to do tip you.

I am currently in the process of switching my hardware to new
Bluetooth technology and using a new state of the art PDA and a
wireless Extech 3500 BT portable thermal printer. But the program
conversion and other problems are bogging it down somewhat. I have
recently decided to reshedule the start of the new technology to the
beginning 2004. In the meantime (the rest of this year)I have to use
the Sharp PC-E500S coupled to the Sharp CE126P Thermal Printer, which
I have been using for nearly a decade. It's old technology, but works
really well, and I am totally familiar with it. The only valid reason
for me changing the hardware is that Sharp decided in their wisdom to
stop production of the CE-126 Printer. Yet they still have ample
stocks of the PC-E500S Hand Held computer. So that's the full story.
So till about November I still need to find the elusive CE-126P.
I hope my forthcoming tip will encourage you to keep hunting for them.
Kind regards taxmamma from bwll77-ga

Dear bwll77-ga

Thank you very much for the offer.

But if I can't find it for you, I don't want a thing.
I'll keep looking...and keep an eye out for your postings.

For Google Researchers you like, you can always do what you
did here, open up a question like this, directed to just one
researcher. You may price the item low - and add a tip.

Let me tell you a little secret though, a high rating is
worth even more to some of us than the money. ;~)

I'll keep looking anyway.

Just curious though. Is there a way to use any of their
later printers, perhaps by having someone write a few
lines of code to do effect some kind of bridge to the
newer printer?

But I do understand your desire to not fix it if it
isn't broken. You've got a functional combination...

That's how I feel about my tax software.

Best wishes

Hi Again.

My friend brought up a good question:

"There must be a giant pile of these somewhere. I suspect that
there is a specialized application that thesea re wanted for.
If we knew what it was, we could look at that market slice and
find similar users."

What is your specialized application?

I've also put the word out to my friends around the world to see
if they can find a source. Hang in there, if they're available,
someone will know.

Incidentally, one person pointed out that Sharp gives deep
discounts to their employees on discontinued items, then
ships all the rest to Russia. Got any contacts there?

Best wishes

I think i might have found a store in japan that sells this product.
http://www.pasoq.co.jp/shopping/hard/maker/kind/2-097401999990002.html

I asked my japanese friend and he told me they deliver outside of
japan under some conditions. I try to email them but I couldn't find
any email address. I hope your search goes well for this product. I'll
keep looking for this.
