I'm trying to find out the total number of error page-views on the
entire internet. I think the best way to do this is estimate the
number of error pages per internet users and multiply by the number of
users.

I've got an idea for the number of internet users (but would like
other estimates) but need a stat for the number of error pages per
user.

Data must be fairly recent

When you say error page-views, are you referring to Error 404s
exclusively, any webpage errors, or even wrong pages encountered (ie
forwards, misleading URLs, click forwards...etc)?

Hi namezzz,

This doesn't answer your question, but perhaps you will find it
useful.

According to an InternetWeek article, ParaSoft did a study on Fortune
100 corporate web sites and found that 404 errors "occurred on average
about every 3.5 pages."

Here is the InternetWeek article:
"Corporate Sites Rife With Errors" by Tim Wilson, November 19, 1999.

I hope this helps.
