If I wanted to find a relative I have lost contact with, how would I
go about using internet resources (or other resources) to do so? This
person may have remarried so I'm not sure of the last name. This
would have happened within the last 10 years.

Hello strodes,

Sometimes, the fastest way to find someone is to pop their name (in
quotation marks) into the Google Search box. I've found any number of
old friends that way.

If that is unsuccessful, there are a number of free people finding
resources available on the internet. Each one has it's own set of
details required for a search, so make sure you follow the directions
carefull for the best results.

Be advised, though, that none of them are fool-proof. If someone is
very careful to keep their personal contact information away from the
'Net, and maintains an unlisted telephone number, tracking them down
with these resources might prove difficult or even impossible:

Free People Finder

Netscape People Finder

WhoWhere?!

Switchboard

AnyWho

If you're unsuccessful with these, there are also a number of services
which offer paid public records searches (marriages, divorces, etc.).
Like the free resources, they're not fool-proof, but they do offer
more thorough searches. The more details you have (name, age, last
known address, etc.), the more likely your search will be successful:

OmniTrace

Good luck with your search! If I can be of further assistance, please
ask for clarification. I'll be glad to help.
