Hi humbugxf!!

I just found a very good web page where you can learn how to convert
numbers between different bases.

The source was found at the Terra Community College website, in the
online lessons section. The lesson name is "Number Bases", and you can
find it following this link:
http://www.terra.cc.oh.us/dlm270/lectures.htm

The following topics are covered:
-Section One - Place Values in the Decimal System
Converting from Standard Notation to Expanded Notation
Converting from Expanded Notation to Standard Notation
-Section Two - Place Values in the Octal System
Converting from Standard Notation to Expanded Notation

-Section Three - Place Values in the Binary System
Converting from Standard Notation to Expanded Notation
Converting from Expanded Notation to Standard Notation
-Section Four - Place Values in the Hexadecimal System
Converting from Standard Notation to Expanded Notation
Converting from Expanded Notation to Standard Notation
-Section Five - Converting Binary Numbers to Other Bases
-Section Six - Converting Octal Numbers to Other Bases
-Section Seven - Converting Hexadecimal Numbers to Other Bases
-Section Eight - Converting Decimal Numbers to Other Bases
-Section Nine - Using the TI-85 (and/or TI-86) Graphing Calculator

And also an "ANSWER KEY" section; in this section, you can view the
answers to both the practice problems and the homework problems.

I think that this web page will satisfy your requirements, but I also
give to you some additional sources where you can find more about this
topic:

"Decimal-Binary-Hex-Octal Conversions" by Joe Brelsford, Derek
Schmitt, Tom Bower; from Belmont Technical College (take a look to the
"Course Objectives" link):
http://www.belmont.cc.oh.us/dews/stupro/stupro13/stupro13.htm

"Number Bases Explained" by John Kirk at John Kirk's website:
http://www.golgotha.org.uk/useful/bases.html

"Numeric Systems Home Page":
http://members.tripod.com/numeric_systems/

You can also download the file CONVERT.ZIP that demonstrates how to
convert numbers between binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal system;
the source code is in Pascal.
Using the viewer of your winzip, winRAR or whatever software that you
use to manage zipped files, you can see the source code by viewing the
file CONVERT.PAS.
To download the file:
http://www.wellige.com/tom/download.asp?file=/zip/convert.zip

And the page if you whant to see more programs of different topics:
"My Programming Page - Tom Wellige":

Search strategy:
"how to convert numbers"
"how to" convert numbers

Search engine used:
Google

I hope this helps you, but if you need more info and/or a
clarification please post a request for an answer clarification, I
will respond it for you.

Best regards.
