Hi there, The answer is: B) farthest from the sun "Twice a year, the angle is as big as it can get, at the summer and winter solstices, when it reaches 23.5 degrees. In the summer solstice (around June 21) the north pole is inclined towards the Sun, in the winter solstice (around December 21) it faces away from it." http://www-istp.gsfc.nasa.gov/stargaze/Sseason.htm The NASA page I linked to also has a diagram of the North Pole pointing away from the sun in December. Search strategy: Since NASA is an authority on such things, I only searched within NASA's site: site:.nasa.gov "north pole" winter sun december ://www.google.com/search?q=site%3A.nasa.gov+%22north+pole%22+winter+sun+december Best wishes, robertskelton-ga |
