Hi, and thanks for the question.

If you are wondering if the ban on Spring hunting has lifted in Italy,
then it looks like the answer is "No", in fact its a little stronger
and the penalties are quite sever. The KgV hunts the hunters of
Thrush, and Turtle dove with much vigor. And hunting season ends on
the 31st of January.

The extreme rules on hunting migratory birds of any type during any
season has placed this sport basically on hold for an indefinite
period of time. Thousands of professional hunters have simply retired,
since it doesn't look like law is going to lift anytime soon.

I found a few good sites on the "festivels of the seasons" but I was
pretty sure you wouldn't be very interested in those, since all of
them have the festivels for starting and ending the "Thrush Hunting"
but there is no "Thrush Hunting" envolved. Domestic thrush are
servered.

I also found sites about Italian Hunting dogs such as this one
--
The Italian Spinone is a versatile hunting dog of ancient heritage
with origins in northern Italy. It has a very resistant, thick skin,
and harsh coat, making it well suited for working in the field. The
Spinone has been characterized as a dog "...that does not hunt for
themselves but for their master" and is "not too fast in their speed
while searching out game." Their gentle disposition and docile
temperament make them an excellent family companion as well.

But no one is hunting with them in Italy, it appears, since all of the
write-ups are for USA field hunts.

From the tone of your question I have assumed that you wanted current
event information, which I have provided. If I have misunderstood, and
you would like some historic information, or "travel guide" type
information on the rasieing of dogs, or the Italian Bird Hunts, please
use the "Clarify" funtion and I'll compile that together for you.

Thanks, but I am particularly interested in upland game hunting e.g.
pheasant etc. in the Fall. Spring migratory hunting is not my
interest.
Events or quided hunts aere an interest

Now this question is a hunt :-)

I was not able to discover any hunts, guided or otherwise, on web
pages. I'm not really sure why that is, but I did find a couple sites
that belonged to "game reserves" who also appeared to have hunts. So I
wrote to these last night and I'm still waiting for answers from a
couple of them. I also sent emails to hunting clubs, and pheasant
raising companies, asking if they knew of any hunts in Italy.

Four have answered at this time, three of them saying "we don't do
those types of hunts any longer". But one wrote back saying they did.

The company name is Safari International and the email address is
safari.int@pronet.it

In their email reply to me there was an attached broacher which I made
into a PDF file for you and it is located at :

Their website, which I looked at it last night, didn't have any
details about the Italy hunts, so look at the broacher.

I still have a few more emails I'm expecting and as soon as I get them
I'll post another Clarification for you, if they offer more
information on real hunts like this one has.

Hi again. None of the rest of the places I sent off emails too have
responded with more information.

first attempt to answer presented information readily available and
dealt primarily with the European concerns with Spring migration of
game birds. Second attempt was more to the point and helpful for my
interests
